Taking care of yourself is crucial for a healthy and happy life in today's fast-paced and hectic world. It's easy to prioritise work, family, and other commitments over your own mental and physical health. Neglecting your own wellbeing can store up long term health issues so it really is important to make time to evaluate how you’re doing.

A few years ago, I experienced first-hand the consequences of not taking good care of yourself. I suffered a period of depression due in no small part to the excess demands of work and huge amounts of stress, my father was diagnosed with terminal cancer, and I was also not sleeping well. I felt utterly overwhelmed but thankfully I had a fabulously supportive husband who helped me get the help I needed, and I slowly returned to my normal happy bubbly self.

The memory of those dark days made such an impact on me that when Rhona and I started our gift company, I felt strongly that I wanted us to create a gift box that I would have liked to have received during that difficult time in my life. And we’ve curated two boxes that we feel make great gifts for anyone who needs a little nudge to take time out of their busy lives and take care of themselves.

It's undeniably easy for us to get caught up in the demands of work and family life, and easy for us to neglect our well-being.
